Volunteer Opportunities

The Drawing Studio offers everyone the opportunity to get involved in The Drawing Studio community. One of the best ways to deepen your experience of TDS is to become a volunteer. The Drawing Studio has a very small paid staff. Volunteers are the heart of our entire operation—without them (maybe you!) we simply would not exist.

The mainstay of our program is our front desk volunteers. These volunteers answer phones, greet gallery visitors, and generally make people feel welcome and taken care of. Front desk volunteers are expected to make a regular commitment of time (though the amount is up to you) and attend training sessions (and parties!) periodically. Front desk volunteers are eligible for tuition discounts after meeting certain service requirements.

If you are interested in helping on a less regular basis, there are plenty of activities and opportunities (see form). Many volunteer jobs are invented and filled by people who see a need for something at the studio that doesn’t currently exist. They then proceed to make it happen.
